My visit with Rob and Laura definitely opened my eyes to what the vocation of Married Life is all about - especially when it comes to having children. They are a wonderful and hardworking couple who have really embraced the challenges and joys God had given them along the way. But don't just take my word for it...

The staff and students at Monsignor Doyle Catholic High School in Cambridge, Ontario did well to gather and celebrate a mass during the Easter Season. The students themselves did an excellent job on the reading, singing/music, sound/stage set up, and serving at the mass. Enjoy this short video of the introductory remarks of Chaplain Marianna Worth and the beautiful music that was such an important part of the mass. Way to go students of Monsignor Doyle!

What a beautiful ordination! Fr. John Redmond was ordained a priest and began to live out his vocation to the Diocesan Priesthood on May 6th, 2012. Join me at the ordination mass through pictures and video to experience for yourself what it was like to be there and witness the joyful atmosphere and grace-filled Rite of Ordination. May God continue to bless Fr. Redmond and the Diocese of Hamilton. If you would like more information on Diocesan Priesthood and/or the Diocese of Hamilton please visit www.vocationinfo.ca

The students and staff of St. Matthew's Grade School in Waterloo, Ontario recently invited me to come and talk about vocations with the students in grades 6, 7, and 8. I was very impressed with how many of the "5 Vocations" the students could name. And they asked many GREAT questions, such as: What is the best thing about living out a vocation? How do you become a Priest? Do you have any regrets? How do you join a Religious Community? What is your favorite country to go to? These are just a few of the questions that lead to some fun and interesting discussions on how we are all invited to discover God's dream for each of us and live it out as joyfully as possible. By the end of the day it appeared that the learning went both ways. All of the seemed to learn something new about vocations and I got to learn about what they think about vocations. Thanks to all the staff and students for the warm welcome and amazing hospitality. May you all continue to learn about and discover what God is dreaming just for you!

On a recent trip to Maryland I visited one of my brothers in the Congregation of the Resurrection and discovered some great people and insights about vocations. Fr. Jim does well to live out his vocation as a Resurrectionist Priest by keeping things alive both in the flowerbed and in the classroom at Mount Saint Mary's University! While attending some of the theology classes that Fr. Jim teaches I noticed that he is really good at creating a space where students feel comfortable to share and ask questions about their faith. When I got to speak with the students, one class mentioned that they thought passion and service are necessary components of any vocation. And another class did well to underscore the importance of using different forms of prayer such as Devotional, Meditation, and Conversational to become more in touch with our deepest desires and God's call for each of us to live them out in a particular way. Looks like these students are well on there way to being as joyful as Fr. Jim when it comes to discovering and living out God's dream for them! Enjoy the slide show of some of the sites including a picture of Fr. Jim with his Provincial Superior Fr. Sam Restivo, CR on his right, and the president of the university, Thomas H. Powell, on his left. To view an interview with Fr. Jim talking about his vocation in Poland with another Resurrectionist from Poland please go to: http://youtu.be/tA-1X9OvVyI
